After releasing their most recent album, We Are All We Need, Above & Beyond embarked on their “We Are All We Need” tour at the beginning of February and are finally set to take over the F Shed in Syracuse tomorrow night. Personally, I’ve been waiting YEARS to see these guys as they are basically legends, so when the tour was announced in January, I knew there was no way I would be missing this event. Even knowing I would have to make the two and a half hour trek from Buffalo, once it was announced Lane 8 would be the opener.. it was game over for my wallet.

Above & Beyond’s album was met with a great deal of success after the release in mid January, and even hit the number one spot on iTunes best Electronic/Dance albums. I was seriously impressed with this album, and believe it’s one of their best, if not the best, album they have released to date. Each track on the album is beautifully crafted and is unique in their own individual respect. With lots of vocal appearances from Alex Vargas and one of my favorite vocalists, Zoe Johnson, songs like “Sticky Fingers“, “We Are All We Need”‘ and “Blue Sky Action” perfectly exemplify the vocal talent that is present on this album. Beautiful chords, melodies, and vocals are all used excellently by these incredible producers and as a fan of artists who play their own music at shows, It’s safe to say I have a great deal of excitement to hear Above & Beyond play this album live for us.

If I haven’t convinced you to attend yet, Lane 8 is more than enough reason for you to party in the shed with us on Wednesday night. One of the most talented producers in the game right now, Lane 8 is an up and coming talent, with no limit in regards to how far his production skills can take him. He has seen a great deal of success with some incredibly constructed tracks including “Diamonds” and his most popular track, “The One”, and also has a very popular seasonal mix tape series that showcases some of the best deep house music around and is currently one my favorite mix tapes. He brings to the table an incredibly soothing style of deep house music that will definitely have the entirety of the F Shed grooving along together before Above & Beyond takes the stage.

On a separate note, if you are coming out to party on Wednesday night and like what you hear, Lane 8 is playing the OFFICIAL Anjunadeep after party and takes to the decks for a second time Wednesday night at Syracuse’s most well known venue, The Westcott Theatre. Lane 8’s deep house vibes will be the perfect way to wind down after a long night of dancing and will be well worth the cost of the after show. If you’re interested, you can pick up tickets here, and don’t hesitate because you surely don’t want to miss what is shaping up to be an epic night in ‘Cuse.
