Kenny Glasgow has been an influential and dominant force in dance music for well over two decades now. What began as a promotion career in Toronto for underground raves and warehouse parties, became so much more and as recently as a few years ago resulted in his contribution as one half of well established duo Art Department. Glasgow has been an insightful producer, DJ, composer, and even vocalist for a while now and has recently returned to his solo roots, taking his productions to a whole new level. His take on Jori Hulkkonen‘s ‘Black Boots’ is a silky smooth, down tempo, Deep House take on the original with melancholic vibes and slight tribal influences. A simple synth melody presents itself from the beginning of the track before being filled in with an off-beat melody and atmospheric effects. The vocals join in shortly thereafter and the drums do a fantastic job of highlighting the down beats from the vocal stems before acidic fills join the party.
