Green Velvet is one of the most versatile artists out there today. Whether he’s donning the decks with that unmistakable green mohawk as GV, gettin’ fucnky as all hell as Cajmere, or tag-teaming with partner in crime Claude von Stroke as Get Real, Curtis Alan Jones seems to always be on top of his game. Known for some of Techno’s iconic tracks such as ‘Percolator’ and ‘Lazer Beams’ Green Velvet’s career has spanned longer than many of today’s DJs have even been alive. In addition to his selection of aliases, Green Velvet also mans the Cajual Records label and its offshoot, Relief Records and subsequent podcast, maintaining his position a top of the Techno kingdom for many years now.
Harvey McKay has been one of Adam Beyer’s go to guys on the Drumcode label as of late. Making waves with his heavy, methodical bass lines and grooving melodies, McKay has solidified himself as a mainstay on the established imprint in a short amount of time while still managing to release on other heavyweights such as Intec and Bedrock. McKay’s big time, atmospheric sound have won him over many fans and the energy can be felt in not only his live performances across the globe, but in productions such as the Wrong Turn EP which was released last year.
‘Magnetize’ is the beautiful product of a Green Velvet and Harvey McKay collaboration that is set to release Friday, June 10th on Green Velvet’s Relief Records imprint.
