As they gear up for their North American tour, Billy Kenny and rising talent Maximono debuted their latest single through Dancing Astronaut titled ‘Hulahoop’. With Billy continuing his meteoric rise to the top of the Tech House genre, a consistent string of releases on the Dirtybird Records label, as well as his ‘This Ain’t Bristol’ label continuously wow fans across the globe. Maximono on the other hand, has been a regular on the Cuff label run by Amine Edge & Dance, while racking up numerous releases for Dirtybird and This Ain’t Bristol as well. This latest release comes to fans through Kenny’s co-run This Ain’t Bristol imprint as ‘hulahoop’ debuts prior to the triad’s forthcoming EP, on the same label. Touching 20 cities in just over a month’s time starting on October 7th, it was only fitting that Billy Kenny and Maximono debuted some new tunes in anticipation of the tour and the guys do not disappoint.
‘Hulahoop’ packs a powerful punch right from the get go as a fat sub kick rattles the listener while a crafty percussive beat makes its way to the foreground. Breaking into a Jackin’ piece of Tech House goodness, a bellowing vocal belting ‘show me your hoolahoop’ is looped around a tastefully funky bass line. Midway through ‘Hulahoop’, Billy Kenny and Maximono add an eerie high end synth and a plethora of trippy sound effects to fill the track out. Billy Kenny and Maximono really put their production talents to the test on this one and the result is a track we are certainly pleased with. Be sure to be on the lookout for the rest of this EP and if you can, make it a point to catch these guys as they journey across North America next month.
