In need of a couple seriously rhythmic tracks with heavy grooves and trippy synth lines? Look no further, as Brooklyn based DJ and producer Codes has got you covered. Finding its way on to Treasure Fingers’ own Psycho Disco! label, Codes’ latest EP comes correct with two thriving originals and a Bass heavy remix capable of holding its own on the dance floor.
This collection of dark and twisted cuts kicks off with the EP’s title track, ‘Bumps’, and it certainly does just that. With a spine-tingling low end that is sure to bring fire to the dance floor, tripped out vocal samples, and enough distortions to take your mind on an exquisite journey, we’re almost positive you’ll have this one on repeat like we do.
‘Boom Bapps’ makes up the B side to this EP and kicks off with a simple kick-clap beat and a sultry synth line. The break features an infectious rhythm highlighted by those same synth lines, raising and dropping without any warning, and a rapid cowbell in the distance for good measure.
The Homie steps up for remix duties on this EP’s title track. Bringing a much more bass-centric focus to the table, The Homie turns ‘Bumps’ in to a UK Garage/Bass House heater with cascading synth rhythms and wacky vocal loops, rounding out the EP in proper fashion.
