The feeling of discovering some new talent is always an exhilarating one for us. The latest of such discoveries comes all the way from Australia by way of a talented Tech House artist named Pantheon. Pantheon, who’s remixed for the likes of Colour Castle and Roger Sanchez, has steadily built his brand over the last few years by maintaining a high level of production and returns early on in 2017 with the release of his two-track Robots Dance EP on his own imprint Unknown Records.
The EP kicks off with the track ‘Spaceships’, which has already seen air play from none other than Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. ‘Spaceships’ has a funky Tech House rhythm built around rising synth lines and a smooth percussive beat. Vocal bits are echoed throughout the background while an almost tribal drum pattern fills things out.
Pantheon follows with the track ‘Robots’. ‘Robots’ is a little bit darker than its A-side counterpart and saw its first major airplay recently on Australia’s Triple J Radio from The Aston Shuffle. A darker Techno rhythm can be found on this record with heavily instilled grooves and an eerily crafted atmosphere leading in to driving breakdowns that’ll set just about any dance floor ablaze.
