After a whopping 18 month hiatus, Australian trio Crooked Colours is back, and in a big way. The trio from down under just announced the first single off of their return album which is due out this June on Sweat It Out Music and is already seeing major airplay during sets and on some of the larger dance music radio stations. The record is titled ‘Flow’ and follows a string of popular releases such as ‘Come Down’, ‘Capricious’, and ‘Another Way’, which all garnered millions of streams and topped charts such as Hype Machine. However, ‘Flow’ might just be the live electronic band’s most captivating piece yet. With a simple melody to start and a somber vocal bit, Crooked Colours exhibits a style early on that reminds us of a Rufus Du Sol meets Bob Moses kind of deal. The track soon trails off until all that’s left is the stripped down guitar riff and vocal combo before leading in to groovy break down highlighted by a plethora of intricate sound effects and echoing vocals. This latest release from Crooked Colours has us excited for the album out later this year, so be sure to keep an eye out.
