As the digital age continues to put endless amounts of music literally at our fingertips, artists must continually find ways to separate themselves from the pack in order to stay ahead. As of late, many feel the art of a full-length album has been lost or displaced, and only recently have some of the community’s taste-makers taken to bringing its true meaning back to prominence. Such is the case with Ferry Corsten, who, fueled by the desire to unite the music with an underlying story line, takes that challenge head on with his latest long-player.
Blueprint is a concept album that sees Ferry propel himself into previously uncharted territory. By uniting his passion for film and screenwriting with the sounds of Trance he’s been working with over the years, Corsten and acclaimed screenwriter David H Miller went to work crafting a musical narrative that helped to fit the album’s conceptual direction. Described as a body of work that is truly ‘greater than the sum of its parts’, Blueprint is a crisp and polished body of work that is both complex and intellectual from start to finish.
Starting in May, Ferry Corsten will bringing the Blueprint tour on the road. A select few dates, including stops at Ministry of Sound, Webster Hall, and Exchange, have been announced with more to come in the weeks leading up.The album’s title track is available to listen below and there’s a Free Download along with.
