Brooklyn based DJ and producer Codes burst on to the scene early on in 2016 and by the end of the year had fans practically eating out of the palm of his hand. Rounding out the year, Codes unleashed a downright filthy EP titled Bumps in November on Treasure Fingers’ label Psycho Disco and then followed things up with the release of ‘Bad Boy’ on Billy Kenny’s This Ain’t Bristol imprint. The end of last week, however, saw a release from an unlikely source.
Released on the brand new Weapons Records, Codes fires off a certified dance floor banger in ‘Bring The Bomb’. Highlighted by intense vocal chops and a broken sub kick, by the time the bass line drops in, it’s pretty much game over. Two layers of hi hats fill the background while a series of hypnotic synths zip in and out of the broken vocal work, rounding out this edgy cut.
As a side note, 5% of all profits from the label will go to those who have been displaced by war. Check it out below and hit Codes on his social pages.
