Dutch production/DJ duo Black Girl / White Girl made their debut on Max Chapman’s Resonance Records this June with a new EP. The Tales Of Light EP was released June 2nd and follows releases already this year on record labels such as Flashmob and Hector Cuoto’s Roush imprint.
‘Crazy Joe’ has the duo’s talents on full display early on. Premiered by Mixmag originally, the record’s sleek percussive back bone gives way for a rumbling low end and a distorted vocal while the drops feature energetic releases with filtered kicks and assorted chords.
‘Piglet Booty’ follows a similar suit. The record’s phased vocals are looped over tripped out samples while pummeling kicks and rattling bass occupy the low end. Support already includes the likes of Claude von Stroke, Detlef, Jamie Jones, and many more.
In addition, the EP includes the Secondcity remix of ‘Crazy Joe’. Secondcity delivers an undeniably groovy cut heavy in tribal pads and slick percussive rhythms.
