Robert Hood and his daughter, Lyric, have released their latest Floorplan EP. The Let The Church EP is the first body of work to come from the father/daughter duo since Robert released the heavily lauded album Victorious last year.
The EP comes with four total records, with the title track leading the way. ‘Let The Church’ is a gritty production that incorporates both elements of house and techno. The borderline gospel-like vocal gives only slight breathers during the record’s rugged structure which is comprised of rolling drum machines.
‘Made Up My Mind’ is house anthem with powerful vocals, shrieking organs, and sultry piano melodies. The elongated breakdown is something to die for that leads back in to the powerful mix of vocal and organ work.
Robert Hood gives ‘He Can Save You’ off their 2016 album Victorious a moody makeover that is powerful and reminiscent of the original. In addition, the EP includes Lyric Hood’s take on ‘Never Grow Old’ showing her command of proper house rhythms with a knack for dance floor grooves. The Let The Church EP is now available on 12′ vinyl and digitally on M Plant.
