SoCal-based Wally Callerio just released the long awaited The Love Safari Vol 2 album. The LP, which follows in the foot steps of the first album released back in 2003, sees Wally get back to his roots musically, which is where the connection lies between this album and the one 14 years prior.
One of our favorites off the album is the collaboration with long time friend and Sampled Detroit founder, Chuck Daniels. Named after his pup, ‘Quincy’s Groove’ is the perfect embodiment of everything The Love Safari stands for compressed in to one record. Funky bass lines layered over a soft synth melody are soon joined by a powerful, yet distant vocal bit before breaking in to a pure dance floor groover.
The Love Safari Vol 2 is out now via Wally Callerio’s own Dufflebag Recordings imprint and is available via Beatport and Traxsource. In addition, Wally is nearing the completion of a second album hopefully out in 2017, a concept with R&B singer Jon B, aimed at getting back to the roots of R&B and disco titled dirty/sexy.
