One of the undisputed faces of Buffalo’s tight knit house and techno scene, Rufus Gibson, is having another career year in 2017.
Aside from his own monthly party, Rufus has made stops in a number of cities across North America including several Movement week parties and most recently a slot at the High & Dry event in Denver, Colorado. The party doesn’t stop there however, as Rufus brings one of his buddies back with, Paul Kuenzi, for a reunion party this Friday at the Gypsy Parlor.
Amidst all of this, Rufus has still had his down in the studio. The most recent offering, ‘Don’t Dip Girl’, lands on Toronto’s Mikita Skyy imprint and proves to be one of his funkiest releases to date. Loaded with classic house rhythms and a lush atmosphere, the soft vocal efforts find themselves looped around an unapologetic kick/hi hat combo that makes ‘Don’t Dip Girl’ perfect for the beginning, middle, or end of the night.
