After releasing the stellar single ‘Moon Rocks’ and following it up with a remix of Moby’s ‘Why Does My Heart Hurt So Bad’, Italian standout Enrico Sangiuliano is making his highly anticipated return to Drumcode. The talented DJ and producer graces the label with the two track Astral Projection EP .
If you’ve seen any number of the Drumcode roster in recent months, you’ve probably already heard the EP’s title track. Label boss Adam Beyer himself has already been heard touting ‘Astral Projection’ at events such as Printworks, Awakenings and Junction 2 in London, and with good reason. The piece is a big room techno bomb that features powerful low end reverberations, crisp hi hats, and an eerily textured synth pattern centered squarely within its cavernous borders.
‘Blooming Era’ pushes the envelope just a bit further than its a-side counterpart. The record’s brooding low end evolves in to a full on onslaught of carefully crafted synth modulations and tightly woven percussive rhythms powered by a steamroller of a bass line.
