Jase Thirlwall is an artist we’ve had our eyes on for some time now. We documented his recent rise in popularity in last year’s Artist Profile and since then, a lot has happened. Releases such as the energetic belter ‘Squelcher’ alongside Will Atkinson landed on Kearnage while the more approachable ‘Love Spreadin’ found a home on Anjunabeats. A healthy tour schedule has kept the UK-based artist travelling throughout Europe this summer, with a performance at Luminosity standing out as the highlight thus far.
‘Lucent’ lands on the Armin van Buuren-led Who’s Afraid of 138?!, his third release on the label, and packs a powerful punch. The single’s initial upbeat tempo is softened only by the lush synth melodies and backing piano chords that progress in to a beautiful, hands-in-the-air bridge, that breaks in to pure, euphoric, synth driven arpeggios. A well-rounded offering from top to bottom, ‘Lucent’ is sure to brighten the room at any given moment.
