Maceo Plex is releasing music as Maetrik for the first time in 5 years.

Appropriately titled the Return EP, the release marks the first for a new record label headed by the Clash Lion crew and the first as Maetrik since the Unleash The Beast EP on Ellum. Comprised of  Shall OcinTERR and Daniel Watts, the three joined forces to create an eclectic record label capable keeping an open mind and continuously pushing boundaries.

‘Cortex 11-b’, the EP’s first single, does just that. Kicking off with a rumbling low end and a swift hi hat, he slowly brings to the foreground a warped modulation that is eventually overtook by a series of sharp riffs.By this time, the production has fallen back on a downright powerful kick-clap combo that lays the proper foundation for the alternating modulations and synths.

The EP also features ‘Ninex 7-c’, a relentless, low end-heavy production, on the EP’s b side. The full release is available both digitally and on vinyl starting on September 29th.
