Today marks the finalization of the long-awaited acquisition of EDM jauggernaut label, Spinnin’ Records, by the massive Warner Music Group. For the mere price of $100 Million, Spinnin’ Records, along with its music publishing and artist management divisions, will be directed by Spinnin’s co-founder Roger De Gaaf alongside the executive VP of global A&R and marketing Bart Cools under the WMG family.
Individual artist’s labels that operated under the Spinnin’ family such as Tiesto’s Musical Freedom, Oliver Helden’s Heldeep, and Don Diablo’s Hexagon Records will also fall under the Warner Music Group name.
Despite the cultural changes in music tastes that strayed away from Spinnin’s identity as the “Big Room House label,” the label today is one of the most well-operated and successful indie labels in the EDM world. Spinnin Records’s estimated revenue last year was $18.3 Million according to Owler.com.
