Amsterdam Dance Event can be tough to navigate, we get that. The gathering, which is now in its 22nd year of operation, runs this year from October 18th-22th. ADE is arguably one of the greatest celebrations of dance music culture year in and year out and the events alone are enough to overwhelm anyone, and that’s before you even take a look at the conference itinerary.
This is not an exclusive list, nor is it a best of. Simply put, we’ve highlighted five parties, from a variety of styles of music, that are more than worth checking out if you find yourself in the ‘Dam this time next month.
Give it a read, support the artists, and let us know what parties you’ll be attending!
62 Hour Long Party @ De School
The title should say it all. But in case you need any more convincing, Aurora Halal, Oceanic, and a number of other live acts have already been announced alongside a TBA DJ lineup that is expected to bring the heat to arguably the hottest club in Amsterdam at the moment in De School. The event is part of a movement led by club officials to prove that vastly different styles of electronic music can coexist at the same place, at the same time in an open setting.
The party will kick off on during ADE on October 20th and runs until the 23rd.
25 Years of Chocolate Puma
Two of the finest Dutch exports on the planet will be celebrating 25 years in the industry this year with a tour that caps during this year’s ADE. They’ve produced music under a variety of monikers over the years, most notably as The Good Men and CP, and have always managed to stay relevant, innovative tastemakers globally.
The duo is playing 25 tribute shows across the globe prior to bringing along a star studded cast of talent that includes Oliver Heldens as HiLO, Tommie Sunshine and Moksi to Melkweg on Saturday, October 21st for the grand finale.
Rawsome x Vaarwel Boat Party 2.0
Rawsome made their debut at ADE last year with a downright fun boat party.
This year, they’re back again alongside Vaarwel and boasting a lineup that saw more than one jaw hit the floor following the announcement.
Familiar names Djoko, Danny Woof, and Jack Swaffer will joined by Richey Profond, YADE, and Thijs Haal on support. The top of the bill, however, looks real nice with Rawsome frontman Greco being joined by Mad Villians (The two have an EP due out on the legendary Strictly Rhythm imprint soon) and is headlined by one of the hottest acts in the UK in Rich Wakley .
Don’t sleep on this.
Roland Presents: 30 Years of TR-909 With Freakin909
Roland is celebrating 30 years of the famed TR-909 this year and they’re inviting everyone to join them.
Amsterdam Dance Event is featuring a showcase headlined by one of the founding fathers of house music, Marshall Jefferson, and a well-rounded lineup from top to bottom highlighted by Rhythm Masters, Wally Lopez, and Low Steppa. Full Intention, Flash Mob, Tough Love, and Skapes among others are on support.
Alongside Roland and Jefferson is distribution giant Labelworx to help mark the first vinyl release on Marshall’s Freakin 909 imprint.
The Party takes place on October 19th at oaK.
Reaktor ADE – DVS1 Presents: Wall of Sound
Reaktor and DVS1 are teaming up to deliver a sonic experience unlike anything ever witnessed.
This year’s setup is even bigger than before and they didn’t slack on the lineup either. Room 1 features DVS1 himself, Helena Hauff, Karenn (live), Oscar Mulero, and CEM. Room 2 comes loaded with An-i, Gunnar Haslam, Lory D (live), Tzusing, and Umwelt.
October 19th at the Warehouse Elementenstraat is the place to be.
Tickets are nearly sold out, so don’t sleep much longer. Check the event page and ticket link for more details.
