San Francisco will become the first city in the United States to host the renowned electronic and experimental music festival, MUTEK, early on next year.
The forward-thinking gathering, which originated in Montreal, already has events in Mexico City, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires, but has yet to make the venture stateside. That is all reportedly about to change come next Spring with details emerging this week of an early 2018 San Francisco date heavily in the works. While there’s no set date at this point in time, officials have confirmed that a Spring event is in the works for the West Coast city with teasers written in graffiti across the city that read ‘MUTEK San Francisco’ serving as the first official advertisements.
This year’s edition of the Mexico City event has been postponed due to the recent 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit the city a few weeks back. Makeup date is scheduled for November.
