Forward-thinking and innovative bass music has been the mantra for DMVU since he first began exploring electronic music. Hailing from the American bass capital, Denver, his music is built on a foundation of expressive sounds and music that makes the body move, and that was evident in his debut release on the Deep Dark and Dangerous imprint.
The Cloccworcc EP is DMVU’s debut on the Circus Records label. The EP leads with the track ‘West Coast Witch Doctor’, a dramatic bass anthem with hard piano notes and slick snare rolls that lead in to a wobbly, down tempo breakdown.
‘Le Wild West’ follows with another dramatic opening, this time highlighted by the crackling of a fire and sirens. The drop is pure chaos constructed from deep, distorted vocals, bass bin-rattling bass lines, and heavy wubs that’ll rock just about any dance floor.
‘Blubbles’ is a tripped out, kaleidoscopic journey rinsed in even more wobbly goodness and arrguably our favorite song on the EP. Leading in to ‘Fox Machine’, whose mechanized rhythms and oscillating synth patterns will rattle any sound system.
‘Tigers On My Shirt’ closes the EP with filtered vocals, a swift, drum n bass like percussive rhythm, and another heavy drop.
