Winchester-born DJ and producer Keeno is capping off another stellar campaign in 2017 with the release of his highy anticapted 3rd LP.
The 23 year old artist has been on the rise since he launched the 60 Minutes of Med School series on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra and kicked off the 2015 year with a 4 track EP release on the Hospital Records sub label Med School. Following another LP and an EP release, Keeno found himself quickly gaining support from BBC Radio 1 heavyweights such as B Traits and Mistajam. As such, he walked in to 2017 at the top of his game.
The year has seen a slew of performances at London’s Hospitality In The Park, The Ritzy in Manchester, and the legendary Motion venue in Bristol leading up to the release of the All The Shimmering Things LP.
The LP’s got a total of 12 tracks, exploring a variety of sonic soundscapes every step of the way. Throughout its composition, Keeno gives an in-depth glimpse into what he embodies as an artist and his penchant for diverse musical fabrics.
From its string driven intro/title track through piano and vocal-infused collaborations with Abbie Rose on ‘Is This The Way?’, and others, Keeno makes very evident early on his knack for properly incorporating subtle instrumentals, an ode to his classicaly-trained background.
Productions such as ‘Nightingale Valley’ and ‘Jungle Ballet’ take a moodier approach by flashing another side of the talented producer’s skill set, while maintaining a level of energy that is unbridled. ‘Piano Only’ is a beautiful ballad that again takes a highly instrumental approach at first before working in to another liquid rhythm and helps to round out what has the potential to be one of the best dnb albums of the year.
