The only nightclub in Western New York with a Funktion 1 sound system is closing.
Pearl Nightclub, located on East Ave in Rochester, is shutting its doors for good after Thanksgiving weekend. The venue has not yet made an official statement on the matter.
The club will host three final nights of music, in both rooms, over the next two weekends soundtracked by the residents that have kept the club’s pulse beating strong over the last several years.
Beats on Saturday, November 18th are curated by Jameson Alexander, Peter Pizzutelli, and Shako with Analyze in the front room. Thanksgiving festivities on Wednesday, the 22nd features Hogan in the front room with Adri, Dagny, and Victor Baz on the Funktion 1s. The final night, November 25th, sees Analyze return to the front room for a final sendoff with Brian Lech, Dave Sif, and Mike Gor closing out the back room one final time in proper fashion.
Pearl had played an important role in the dance music scene in Rochester since it first opened, with groups like Factory Nightlife and EDMVibes bringing numerous acts to the intimately sized venue over the years. Names such as Green Velvet, Mija, Beckwith, and Chus and Ceballos all performed at Pearl during its tenure.
