Hailing from Ecuador, Andre Salmon is one of the most prominent electronic artists to come out of the region in recent memory.
He’s perhaps best known in his home country, but Salmon has been on a rampage as of late and now boasts releases on some of the industry’s hottest labels, including Suara, VIVa Music, Get Physical, Leftroom, Repopulate Mars and most recently Hot Creations. November 20th, however, marks another debut for the South American artist, this time with the release of the Daddy’s Little Girl EP on Wow! Recordings.
The EP features a total of three tracks, however the lead production is simply the vocal version of the EP’s title track with no instrumental. Salmon then takes that vocal and builds several layers of snares, hi hats, blips, and bloops that rest comfortably over the top of a rumbling low end.
‘Alakran’s Re – Evaluation’ is a moody body of work that filters several vocal loops through a variety of mind-bending synth patterns and rolling bass lines.
