As a precursor to the Dusty Bits Album Release Party at the end of August, Dance and Rave has proudly joined forces with both The Brew Run Series and Hamburg Brewing to turn their 5k Brew Run into an all out Sunday Funday Extravaganza with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Hamburg Recreation. The Brew Run Series aims to raise funds for a good cause in a fun and enjoyable manner where patrons come together to support a good cause all while having a great time in doing so. This year, they teamed up with one of the leading local brewers in Hamburg Brewing on a 5k Brew Run taking place Sunday afternoon August 14th at the one and only Woodlawn Beach.
August 14th’s get together is shaping up to be a big one as the three teams have collaborated on a full interaction event that will keep attendees more than occupied during the event’s duration. Starting at 1:00pm and ending around 5:00pm, the Sunday Funday will include several food trucks to keep the stomache’s full as well as a great selection of craft beer from the wonderful brewers at Hamburg. As for the entertainment side of things, there will be numerous games provided including a a giant beer pong set up to test your hand at. In addition, Dance and Rave will be providing a series of DJs from the Buffalo area to keep the good vibes rolling all day long on Woodlawn Beach. First up will be Pizza Pizza and his groovy, retro-funk influenced style perfect for relaxing at the beach too. In addition is newcomer to the seen, Ronin, who’s proven after several live and DJ performances over the last several years that he really knows how to cater to a crowd. Rounding things out on this Sunday Funday will be a couple of the most well-respected Buffalo veterans over the last decade in Sunglasses Mike and Kitz. Sunglasses has held down numerous residencies at several of Buffalo’s hottest clubs over the years including Lux and Pure. Brandon Bryant, aka Kitz, has been headlining local bills longer than just about anyone else in the scene and has become a tutor for a number of fresh faces while wielding a skill set stronger than anyone.
Perhaps the best part of this joint Sunday Funday venture is the charitable aspect. With a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the town of Hamburg and the Hamburg Recreation, this event is a win-win for all parties involved. To register for the race you can visit the Brew Run Series website here as your $45 registration fee gets you a commemorative t-shirt, a free beer, and a sweet medal and benefits the Hamburg Recreation, otherwise . In addition, for our Rochester friends, there will be two more brew runs in the Rochester Area featuring CB Craft Brewers and Rohrbach’s Brewing the following two Sunday’s so if you’re in the area be sure to check those out as well. We are certainly looking forward to getting out for some dancing in the sand fun and hope to see a lot of our readers there!
