Now in its fifth year of operation, Electric Island is in the midst of a summer long celebration that features top notch techno across four dates. May’s installment featured Ben Klock, Joris Voorn, and Eats Everything, and now EI is prepping for an even bigger party on July 1st to coincide with the signing of the Constitution Act of 1867, which united the three colonies in to one under the British Empire.
Electric Island is one of many events hosted by Toronto-based Platform Entertainment that typically brings a slew of talent to venues such as Coda.
The Canada Day celebrations feature a stacked lineup that boasts heavyweights such as Richie Hawtin, who has been testing his new live performance out, Maceo Plex, who just released an introspective album, Recondite, performing a live set, and Roman Flugel on one stage. Talal & Zoi and Chris Larsen also join the first stage. Chaim, Atish, Borzo, Alexsandar Kojic, and Nadia provide the beats on stage 2.
Gates and music both start at 1:00pm and concludes for the night at 11:00pm. Due to the severe flooding that areas surrounding the Great Lakes have received in recent months, this edition will take place at 51 Commisioners Street in the Portlands.
Tickets are still available at the event page and ticket links for $55 and for those who want to keep the party going, there will be an official after party held at Coda. The after party goes until 5:00am and while no artists have been announced yet, you can assure the music will be on point.
