30 years. Easily one of the longest standing record labels around, let alone within the dance music industry, the Kevin Saunderson ran KMS Records has been taking the 2017 campaign to celebrate, and with good reason. As one of the founders of Techno music, a Detroit legend, and a global icon, Saunderson and his KMS brand have been steadily on the rise for longer than most artists have been alive, and look to ring in that longevity in proper fashion during Memorial Day Weekend.
The KMS Records celebration takes place during Movement weekend on Sunday, May 28th inside The Magic Stick, which up until recently was known as Populux. The venue shut down and subsequently re opened late last year after a series of homophobic tweets went out on the venue’s twitter account, which was supposedly the result of a hack job.
The event will occupy both the Magic Stick’s main room, as well as the terrace area. The main room sees Saunderson joined by Floorplan, The Saunderson Bros, and Insoul. On the terrace, Chuck Daniels and Adam Port join global talent Francesca Lombardo in curating the evening’s beats.
