It was 1997 when Rush Hour first opened their doors as a record shop and mail order. The company began by importing varieties of obscure pressings from around the globe before beginning the exporting process of similar-styled Dutch records back to those same companies shortly after. The distribution facet of the business flourished and before the turn of the century, Rush Hour had released its first record.
Since then, the imprint has never adhered to one particular style, although, it is said that all of the RH releases have one thing in common in particular: a distinct Rush Hour flavor.
Rush Hour hits the United States for a brief run of shows during the end of September and in to October with an all-star cast displaying the finest the label has to offer. Label-favorite Hunee, an artist hand selected by label co-founder and noted veteran Antal, is headlining the majority of the shows alongside Antal himself.
All together, stops in NYC, LA, Chicago, Washington, and Boston are on the schedule.
October 6th sees the two joined by Ron Trent, a Chicago-born, NYC raised veteran of three decades at the legendary Chicago venue, Smart Bar.
Advanced tickets start at just $17. Those that show up before 11:00pm with a valid student ID are just $10. For everyone else, day-of-show sales will be $20 before midnight and $25 after.
